This past Saturday (May 12th) was the much-anticipated Cask Ale Fest at Ashley’s Westland location. Several Michigan breweries were represented, which included Founders, Arbor Brewing, Atwater B.C., and Saugatuck B.C. Those brewers/media-types lucky enough to gain early admittance got to … Continue reading

D.I.Y. Six-packs in Livonia
I’d like to take some time to bump a really cool store in north Livonia that’s a must-visit for any beer junkie. The Beer Baron (www.beerbaronlivonia.com) is located on the east side of Middlebelt road just north of 7-Mile, and features a fantastically-diverse selection of everything alcohol.
The ‘Baron stocks a staggering number of american microbrews, including an entire aisle devoted to the mitten state. My favorite part of the entire operation is the ability to make your own six packs – beers can be purchased individually, or else you can buy six and receive a % off the total cost.
I suggest following the BB on Twitter (@beerbaronMI) and Facebook, where they routinely provide updates on new beer arrivals. If you stop in, tell Darren I sent you – and good luck leaving empty-handed.
