This past Saturday (May 12th) was the much-anticipated Cask Ale Fest at Ashley’s Westland location.  Several Michigan breweries were represented, which included Founders, Arbor Brewing, Atwater B.C., and Saugatuck B.C.  Those brewers/media-types lucky enough to gain early admittance got to hear a nice craft beer pep-talk by Ashley’s owner Roy More, who really “gets” craft beer and the folks who are passionate about it.  Beer stations were available both inside the sizeable bar area and outside on the sizeable patio area, and new tappings occurred on a half-hourly basis.  It was a great chance to sample some superb cask ales on a beautiful day in the company of a wide spectrum of beer lovers – what more can you ask for.
